The MB Ultimate Tubing Notcher has been a favorite in fabrication shops for many years. Now the engineers at Mittler have improved on their original design and developed the Double Sided Ultimate Notcher. With a wider base than the standard Ultimate Notcher, the vise can now be positioned on either side of end mill. This makes two sided notching possible without having to re-index the tube. The rest of the operation is the same as the original Ultimate notcher, just clamp your tube in the calibrated swivel vise that allows for accurate and repeatable positioning at any angle. A compound feed table advances tubing into the milling cutter, producing a perfect notch and a perfect fit - every time. Now, after using our Mittler Bros. "Ultimate Notcher' day-in & day-out for the past 2 years, I can give a "well used" review, instead of a "I just took it out of the box and it looks cool" review. I can say without a doubt, if you ever have a chance to try this machine out, you will never want to return to any form of hole saw type notcher again. This machine is solid, weighing close to 400 lbs., yet is compact and has a small footprint. I ordered ours with the 'Variable Speed' option, along with the 'Adjustable Height Vice', both of which we use extensively. Changing cutter sizes is quick and painless, as is changing the cutting angle, which by the way allows more angle than any other notcher I've seen, in fact the vice actually allows you to position the tube Parallel with the cutter! I have nothing but good things to say about the 'Ultimate Notcher', in the past 2 years of use it has performed flawlessly, making thousands of notches and is still a very tight machine showing no signs of wear. I would highly recommend this product to anyone requiring high quality notches with ease of adjustability and tooling change over.
