FACTS ABOUT THE RIDER - Bruce Van Sant:

• Grew up as an "Iowa Farm Boy" who loved to play with dirt bikes and tinker with cars while dreaming about someday racing professionally. Bruce started tagging along to the local drag strip with his brothers and their '57 Chevy drag car when he met up with now long-time friend Rusty Kramer, who at the time was racing a Yamaha drag bike.
• Raced in IDBA Super Eliminator when he met his wife, Andrea. They were married in 1990. In 1992 they traveled to their first National Event together (IDBA/Memphis, TN) where they set the eighth and quarter mile records in GG/M; 6.93 seconds, 95 mph, and 11.07 seconds, 112 mph, on a Yamaha 350cc two-stroke.
• In 1993 Bruce built a Suzuki 1100 Pro Gas bike (8.90-second bracket).
• In 1994, Bruce took the runner up at the IHRA Bracket World Finals and won the best appearing award at that race two years in a row.
• Bruce Van Sant and Rusty Kramer built their current Pro Modified style chassis themselves, using their own unique design. In 1997, they began focusing on running the Pro Modified Class.
• 1998 was their first year actively pursuing the Pro Modified category.
• Finished #3 in IDBA Pro Modified (National Series points) in first year of competition.
• Finished #4 in the 2000 AMA/Prostar Pro Modified Series with two runner-up finishes.
