Once in a while, an opportunity arises that you can't turn down.
In this case, it was a chance to help people in our own "backyard."
During the month of June, many Iowa cities were devastated by flood
waters from record rains and river levels. The city of Cedar Rapids
was hit the hardest, leaving thousands of homes in need of
demolition or major repair.
The Trick-Tools team recently closed the office on a Friday and
took a 2-hr journey to Cedar Rapids, equipped with wrecking tools,
mold-approved masks, and a change of clothes! With a group of 10,
the ambitious team dismantled the interior of a home alongside the
home owner in attempts to stop the growth of toxic mold, and begin
putting their lives back together. After a full day of work,
including lots of sweat and a few water breaks, the home owner was
grateful to have a jump on restoring his family's life back to
normal.
