April 2010 |
The Trick Tools crew hopes that you had a very good
Easter weekend. With Easter behind us, we now
move into the time of year that all of our local
tracks open here in Iowa. The circle track guys
have a weekend or two under their belt already & the
drag race guys are getting ready to hit the track in the next
week or so. We have even seen a few off-road & rock
crawler guys out & about!
As 2010 contiues, we look forward to helping each of you
with your fabricating projects, as we have the right tool for
you and your project! Please feel free to call us &
ask our opinions about the tools that we carry and the tools
that we do not carry. If you see that we do not carry
something, there is a really good reason that we do not!
This month, we have exciting new products to offer

Contour Gauge in Use

When shaping metal, complicated contours
often need to be duplicated. These two
styles of gauges are the perfect way to ensure the
new part is an exact copy of the old. The
12" sliding pin version helps model complicated
shapes. The long snake-like gauges are
perfect for long panels such as hoods, roof skins,
fenders, airplane wings, and more. They are
available in 37" and 107"
lengths. Each will save valuable
time on projects and can be used over and over
again.

on Ellis 1600
Bandsaw! |
|
Ellis band saws are very popular for their
dual mitering capability, extremely large cutting
capacity, and rugged durability. The Ellis
1600 features a mitering head. This
means your material will stay stationary, while
you can rotate the head up to 60 degrees both left
and right for mitering cuts.
The 1600 also features a built-in protractor
for fast and accurate selection of angles, and a
hydraulic control for down feed with locking
valve. The standard quick acting vise will
hold your material tightly & the chip brush
keep the blade clean!
Optional equipment on the Ellis 1600 includes
an air system to clean and cool the blade, with
an auxiliary air blow gun. A built-in
stock stand with 2 rollers and
a micro-adjuster length stop is also
available in addition to the optional free
standing stock stand. A vertical table with
blade guard is also available to quickly turn the
1600 into a vertical saw!

| Trick Tools
has Cleco Fasteners! |
|

Cleco sheet metal temporary fasteners are
great tools for race car builders, body
fabricators, air frame builders, or anyone who
works with sheet metal. We have two models of
fasteners available. The standard
(middle & right above) is designed for
clamping two pieces of sheet metal together
through a common 3/16" or 1/8" hole. The
second is a side clamping model (left above)
is designed to clamp two pieces of material
together along their exposed outside edge.
These simple tools can save hours of frustration
when working with sheet metal.
We offer starter kits which include the
fasteners in 25, 50, or 100 quantities with the
necessary pliers. You can also buy the
fasteners only for fabricators who already
have a clecos in their shop. An extra pair
of pliers or two is also typically welcome for
large jobs.

MetalAce Bullseye Picks! |
|
 SAVE $10 on each
model if the MetalAce Bullseye Picks! The
Bullseye Pick was originally designed for the
collision / dent repair trade. Bullseye
Picks also works very well for restoration
projects. They are ideal for the fabricator
who needs to metal finish the area surrounding a
weld seam on fabricated body work.
Bullseye Picks are designed to be used in
hard-to-reach areas: such as around braces,
gussets and other blind areas. Each pick
includes extra blunt tip which allows you to
strike a larger area per blow and prevents
unattractive pick marks on the metal, that is
especially useful for aluminum work.
